It should provide advice and support ranging from micro to macro level. The advice should be updated, relevant and based on sound research. The programme consists of two sub-programmes:

Agric-Business Development and Support
Provides Agric-Business support through entrepreneurial development, marketing services, value adding, production and resource economics
Macro Economics and Statistics
Develops and maintains a database on various economic variables to carry out statistical and macro-economic analysis in order to inform planning and decision making
