Food Security Ilima/ Letsema Campaign
South Africa’s foremost champion of food security, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs Ms. Lulu Xingwana flanked by MEC Tina Joemat– Pettersson embarked on a day-long Ilima/Letsema crusade late last month. Their mission was aimed at promoting own vegetable production in an era of soaring food prices that have already exacerbated the world’s food crisis.

The minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs, Ms Lulu Xingwana, will officially launch the Ilima/ Letsema Campaign in the Northern Cape Province.
The campaign calls on all of us to roll up our sleeves and work together, in order to ensure food security, create job opportunities and economic development.
