As part of the build up to Exco Outreach on Wednesday, the Department' Farmers Unit facilitated a stakeholder engagement at Triple D farm near Kakamas in ZF Mgcawudistrict. In conjuction with SASSA ,Red Cross and the Department of Health, they provided Farm Workers with information on different grants offered by SASSA, demonstration of condom usage, HIV and TB education.

Officials clean up Louisevale as part of EXCO Outreach Programme

Officials from the Department as well as the municipality traveled to Louisevale for a cleaning and greening initiative in the area.This initiative had officials picking up tools to clean and rid a popular spot in the community of waste. Colleagues from Veterinary Services also joined in and continued with their vaccination drives throughout the ZF Mgcawu district.

MINISTER DIDIZA ANNOUNCES THE DECISION TO SUSPEND ALL MOVEMENT OF CATTLE IN THE COUNTRY DUE FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE OUTBREAK

The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Ms. Thoko Didiza, MP has taken the decision to suspend all movement of cattle in the whole country. The Ministers decision is aimed at halting the continued spread of Foot and Mouth Disease in the country. It also means that cattle may not be moved from one property to another for any reason for a period of 21 days reviewable weekly.

The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, will lead Members of the Executive Council to the Dawid Kruiper Municipality in Upington on an Executive Council Meets the People Programme on Wednesday, 17 August 2022.The Executive Council outreach programme will take place in Louiesevale Weg, where leaders from Provincial and Local Government will interact with community members in order to address service delivery challenges which will be brought to Government’s attention, whilst at the same time engaging with community members on plans for the development of the District.
