The collaborative efforts between the Department and Northern Cape Farmer Academy culminated in the successful completion of an enriching 3-day agro-processing workshop at Zingisa School in Galeshewe, Kimberley.
The third and final day emerged as a practical culmination of the acquired knowledge. Following a comprehensive overview of the workshop's agenda, participants were organized into groups, tasked with crafting business plans that showcased their newfound insights. These plans were presented to officials and fellow farmers, on which they were graded. This interactive exercise provided a platform for farmers to not only demonstrate their understanding but also to showcase the practical applications of the skills acquired during the three days.
In addition to the group presentations, participants engaged in a written test, offering a comprehensive assessment of the diverse subjects covered throughout the workshop. The workshop's conclusion featured a hands-on activity that underscored the practical aspects of the training. Farmers, participated in bottling vegetable atchaar that they made on the second day of the workshop.
By equipping individuals with practical skills and knowledge, the initiative seeks to foster self-reliance and community development within the Northern Cape Province. This collaborative endeavor strives for a modern, growing, and successful province.
