The Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform condemns the illegal dumping of cremated human corpse at the De Duine landfill site in Upington – ZF Mgcawu District Municipality.

Call for Applications: Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) and Llima/Letsema Grant for 2025/26 Financial Year‼️

The Department of Agriculture, Environmental affairs, Rural development and Land Reform is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) and the Llima/Letsema Grant for the financial year 2025/26.

These initiatives are designed to support target farmer groups in enhancing productivity, sustainability, and overall agricultural development.
Eligibility Criteria:

• Smallholder and emerging farmers
• Subsistence
• Farmer cooperatives
• Black commercial farmers
•  Women, Youth; people with disabilities; and new agro-industries will receive priority.

Programme Details:

Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP):

• Provides financial and technical assistance
• Supports infrastructure development, market access, and training
• Aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices and improve food security

Llima/Letsema Grant: Offers funding for agricultural inputs and resources

• Supports projects aimed at increasing crop and livestock production
• Focuses on enhancing the livelihoods of rural communities.

Application Process and Submission Details:
Farmers are requested to visit all our five District offices to get more information on how to access these grant funding as no late, faxed, emailed or unsigned applications will be accepted. However there are certain allocation criteria for farmers has to follow.The closing date for the applications is on the 30 June 2024 to allow other process to unfold.

We encourage all eligible farmer groups to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to grow and develop their agricultural enterprises. Together, we can build a sustainable and prosperous agricultural sector.
