"Call for public comment on the Doornkloof and Goegap Integrated Management Plans"

Notice is hereby given by the Member of the Provincial Executive Committee for the Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development
and Land Reform in terms of section 39(3) of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No. 57 of 2003) for public participation and comments on the five-year Integrated Management Plans for the Doornkloof and Goegap Nature Reserves (Umsobomvu and Nama-Khoi Local Municipalities). Hard and soft copies are available as indicated below:

DEPT TO INDUCT 62 ASSISTANT AGRICULTURAL PRACTITIONERS (AAPs).

The Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform is expected to induct and orientate about 62 Assistant Agricultural Practitioners (AAPs) in Upington on the 09th February.

JOINT STATEMENT OF MINISTER NXESI AND MEC MANOPOLE ON THEIR VISIT TO NORTHERN CAPE FARMS AFTER THE DEATH OF FARM WORKERS IN KAKAMAS

The Minister of Employment and Labour Thulas Nxesi has warned farmers in the Northern Cape that food security will be affected if preservation of the livelihood of farmworkers is not prioritised. On Monday, 23 January 2023, the Minister together with the Northern Cape MEC for Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform Mase Manopole, visited three farms (Groenheuwel, Loveren and Tierkop) in Kakamas, in the Northern Cape, where eight (8) farmworkers passed on, from what is suspected to be a heatstroke.
